Kontraband Beatz

Antonio Washington, also known as Kontraband Beatz, is a Bay Area music producer, born February 1988 and raised in San Francisco’s Mission District. His work is inspired and influenced by his multicultural environment and his own native roots in Haiti and Jamaica. During his youth, Kontraband Beatz emerged from troublesome strides to experiencing a paradigm shift at the age of 18 when completing his two year commitment with Lifeworks Academy group home from 2005 to 2007. He’s known for his diverse and broad sounds from Trap, Hip hop, Rap, Afro-beat, Soul, R&B, and Country. Through his collaborative initiatives, he’s managed to partner with artists across the United States, such as California’s Bay Area, Texas, Arkansas, Chicago - Illinois, New York, North Carolina, New Orleans - Louisiana, and Florida. Internationally, he’s partnered with artists in Germany and Africa. He’s produced music for major artists known as “The Jacka”, “Mr. F.A.B”, “YH Bizzel”, “Rydah J Klyde”, “Shaka Rocoa”, “E Reign”, and more. Afrobeat artist based in Abuja, Nigeria, Dr. Kells, has become the first African collaboration for the label. In 2019, he ventured into a film directed and written by Tomasz Wysocki, collaborating his music production for the short film “T O U G H”. His appetite to service community and develop artistic expression are showcased through the establishment of his non-profit organization, “Black to Africa” in 2022. As an evolving philanthropist, he strives to “create an environment where everyone uplifts one another and creates opportunity for each individual to strive for greatness every day”.
